Turn Off Remote Play & Go Offline
Why This Is Important
After installing your games from Game Hub, it's crucial to turn off Remote Play and set Steam to Offline Mode for these reasons:
- Prevents account validation issues that could restrict access to your games
- Ensures games remain playable even without an internet connection
- Reduces the risk of account conflicts or login problems
- Provides permanent access to your purchased games
How to Turn Off Remote Play
Open Steam Menu
Launch Steam and click on the "Steam" menu in the upper-left corner of the window.
Go to Remote Play Settings
Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu, then click on "Remote Play" in the left sidebar.
Disable Remote Play
Uncheck the box that says "Enable Remote Play" at the top of the settings page.
Save Changes
Click "OK" at the bottom of the settings window to save your changes and close the settings.
Alternative Method: You can also navigate directly to Remote Play from the main Steam menu:
Steam menu > Remote Play > Click to disable
How to Go Offline in Steam
Open Steam Menu
Click on the "Steam" menu in the upper-left corner of the Steam client window.
Select "Go Offline"
In the dropdown menu, click on "Go Offline..." option.
Confirm Offline Mode
A dialog will appear asking if you want to restart in offline mode. Click "Restart in Offline Mode" to continue.
Use Steam in Offline Mode
Steam will restart in offline mode. You can now play your installed games without an internet connection. Your account status will show as "Offline" in the bottom right corner.
Important Notes
After Installation:
- Always turn off Remote Play first, then go offline
- Complete these steps immediately after installing your games
- Do this for each game you install
For Future Sessions:
- Never log out of Steam - this could result in authentication issues
- If you need to use a different account, use the "Change Account" option instead
- When starting your computer, you can launch Steam in offline mode directly by disconnecting your internet first, then starting Steam
